The Client 

The Client is a global real estate development company based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. 

Background 

The Client commissioned the services of Hotel Solutions Partnership (HSP) as a qualified and experienced hotel consultancy firm to develop Position Profiles and Job Descriptions for a number of international 4-star hotels and resorts in the upscale / select service segment currently under development by the Client. 

Client Needs 

The Hotel Solutions Partnership was asked to develop Position Profiles and Job Descriptions in support of a suite of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) so as to prepare the management and team for the operation of the hotels. 

Scope of Work 

Our Client was in the process of defining the framework for a collection of international 4-star hotels and resorts in the upscale / select service segment and had identified a requirement for the development of Position Profiles and Job Descriptions. 

HSP had previously created a suite of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Client. They needed further to develop of a complete set of Position Profiles and Job Descriptions for all operational departments and support functions. 

The Client required assistance in collating, reviewing, developing and combining existing content and fresh inputs to produce a cohesive and congruent suite of documents, manuals and training programmes.  

This required HSP to work closely with the Cient team to coordinate content review calls, drive groups to decisions and close out discussions. 

The Deliverables were: 

  • A customised team of world-class independent consultants with the widest possible range of relevant skills and practical experience 
  • Project management to deliver this complex multi-dimensional assignment 
  • Collation, review, development and combination of the documentation and content developed by HSP’s team into a cohesive suite of documents 
  • Planning, directing and leading weekly content calls using GoToMeeting or other similar web-based communication tools; such calls were specific to the discipline area or department 
  • The Position Profiles and Job Descriptions estimated at some eighty in number, will be delivered in a pre-agreed format and listing.

We envisaged the following departments and positions, estimated at eighty, being addressed 

  • Rooms Division, including:

  • Guest Relations 
  • Uniformed Services  
  • Central Guest Services / Guest Service Centre 
  • Housekeeping 
  • Laundry & Dry Cleaning 
  • Food & Beverage, including: 
  • All-day Dining (buffet style with themed evenings and limited à-la-carte offer) 
  • Specialty Restaurant (e.g. Italian / Mediterranean, Asian Fusion, locally themed, etc.) 
  • Bars (Lounge / Sports Bar / Pool Bar, Night Club, etc.) 
  • Coffee Lounge / Deli 
  • MICE / C&B (Conference & Banqueting), including the Business Centre 
  • Room Service / Mini-bar 
  • Kitchen 
  • Recreation Department (e.g. Health Club, Spa, Fitness, Leisure, Pools, etc.) 
  • Sales & Marketing 
  • Human Resources Department 
  • Accounting Department, including:  Cost Control and Purchasing. 
  • Engineering & Maintenance Department 
  • IT Department 
  • Security Department 

All documents were presented in an electronic format and did not include any printing, graphics, illustrations, videos or other formatting that may be determined as necessary to improve comprehension 

What did Hotel Solutions Partnership achieve for the client?  

Working successuly  in close collobaration with the client HSP delivered eighty Position Profiles and Job Descriptions and over three hundred Standard Operating Procedures.
