Professional Biography

Vic Alcuaz is a hospitality human capital expert based in the Philippines. He was a Human Resources Chief of the Hyatt Manila and pre-opening Human Resources Chief for the first-ever Shangri-La Hotel in the country. He assisted in the pre-opening Filipino staff requirements for the first-ever 6-star Shangri-La property in Oman, the Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort. 

Vic became a full-time hotel consultant in 1995 helping hotel owners and management companies pre-open properties, recruit staff from top to bottom as well as train and develop them. 

Passions

Vic is a co-founder of the Philippines’ hotel industry service excellence awards known as the Mabuhay Awards, where managers, supervisors and rank & file staff are recognized and honoured on a yearly basis. He also founded and owns the largest private group of industry professionals on Facebook and Linked-In called Filipino Hoteliers Worldwide with close to 250,000 members worldwide.
