Background

The Client envisions developing a luxury integrated resort with a hotel, residences, and range of leisure facilities.

Client Need

The Client approached HSP to seek guidance on whether the envisioned resort should be golf-centred and also what the ideal mix, scale and positioning of hotel(s), residences, wellness, sport and leisure facilities should be to create a successful luxury destination.

Scope of Work

HSP offered to put together a panel of experts comprising:

  • Resort Residential Specialist

The team conducted some desktop research to understand the location and opportunity, then participated in a structured one-day interactive workshop with the Client and his key stakeholders. The objective of the workshop was mainly to define what will make the proposed resort a unique proposition.

What did Hotel Solutions Partnership achieve for the client?

The Strategic Visioning Workshop helped to envision success by leveraging the expertise and experience of a panel of experts. The visioning workshop achieved the following:

  • Established the initial vision based on the Client’s ambition and aspirations
  • Tested ideas and priorities against a broader landscape of market supply and demand for both hotel and resort residences
  • Identified major trends and new opportunities for innovation
  • Looked over the horizon at emerging demand both domestically and from within the African region
  • Agreed the ideal positioning of the hotel, residences and leisure facilities
  • Defined global benchmark developments
  • Identified the likely competition

Following the Visioning Workshop, HSP submitted a 20-page report providing specific recommendations on the target market, ideal mix of accommodation, residential development, green/wild spaces and leisure facilities.

HSP’s report also included a  strategic roadmap outlining potential future project phases including visitng the site, conducting field research, preparing a site survey, undertaking a market and feasibility study, identifying the appropriate operating partner and marketing the opportunity to qualified developers and investors.
