Jo’s 28 year architectural career in Asia includes design and documentation of complex large scale mixed use developments throughout the region. With a broad wealth of experience across the industry, Jo – a British Citizen – has worked with Operators and Developers on projects in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Macau.
Driven by a desire to work within a vibrant and emerging economy, Jo chose to pursue his architectural career in Asia.
Jo has worked as Lead Designer for major architecture firms and on the operator side of the business with Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) as well as directly on the ownership side. He has been responsible for the Design and Documentation of complex projects: working within multi-disciplinary design teams in his role as the Lead Designer. He enhanced his understanding of hotel design, guest experience initiatives and brand creation and standards as a director of the design team for IHG China, and was Design Lead for the client on The Parisian Integrated Resort in Macau, helping to bring to fruition one of the world’s landmark destinations for gaming on time and on budget.
Jo has a Master of Arts (Hons) and Diploma of Architecture from Edinburgh University and is a Chartered member of the RIBA and registered with Architects Registration Board UK.
