Alex Mavridis joins us as Chief Operating Officer, EMEA Team

Alex has worked with global brands such as Hyatt, Mandarin Oriental, MGM, W, Kempinski, Fontainebleau, One&Only, Intercontinental, Guoman, Steigenberger, Holiday Inn and easyHotels as well as numerous regional and local brands.

Alex Mavridis has over twenty years’ experience in investment managing hospitality and mixed-use assets through all stages of the investment cycle – concept, feasibility, design, pre-opening, operating, asset management, pre-sale and disposal. Over this time he has worked in five continents and been responsible for over $7 billion of global hospitality assets.

Alex has a Bachelor of Business from Swinburne Institute of Technology, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance Investment from the Security Institute of Australia and a post graduate certificate in Real Estate from Cornell University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand and a Senior Associate of FINSIA, the professional body for the financial services industry in Australia and New Zealand.

Rosie Hobbs has joined as Consultant, UK EMEA Team

Rosie Hobbs specialises in designing and implementing organisation development solutions to support hotel companies with their start up, change or expansion objectives.

Rosie’s career spans operational, human resources and people development roles at unit, regional and corporate levels for large international and small independent hotel companies in the UK, West Indies and Middle East Africa. Most notable of these was working for the Inter-Continental Hotels Group for 11 years.

As a consultant for 14 years, Rosie has successfully completed assignments with international clients. These have included Inter-Continental Hotels EMEA, Mandarin Oriental Hotels globally, Kerzner International USA, and in the Middle East, Rotana Hotels, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, Abu Dhabi National Hotels, and DAMAC Suites & Spa. She works well both leading and participating in teams. She is highly customer focused, and in working with clients, she uses her strengths in communication, creativity and influence, and her talent for planning and organising major projects, to realise successful outcomes.

Jankarl Farrugia has joined as Consultant, UK EMEA Team

Specialising in Sales & Marketing, Jankarl provides expert guidance throughout the pre-opening, launch and operational phases, having held executive positions at Corinthia Hotels International in Malta and Milan, Six Senses Resort and Spa, Oman as well as Leisure and Tour Operator Director at a Destination Management Company in Malta.

Jankarl serves on the Board of the Malta Hotels and Restaurant Association. The Board is involved in a number of large scale nationwide initiatives including tourism strategy, tourism zone planning eco-tax contribution fund allocation and other projects.

Kristina Fischer has joined as Consultant, Asia Pacific Team

Kristina is a business lawyer with over a decade of experience in commercial, real estate and hospitality law. Kristina is currently the Managing Director of K Fischer & Co, a legal consulting firm which has provided developers, chains, investors and other hospitality players with the legal support and industry knowledge they required to achieve their objectives.

Prior to this, Kristina worked as a lawyer in major international law firms, i.e. at Baker & McKenzie in Bangkok and Ashurst in Singapore. She ultimately left the law firm environment to gain more hands-on business experience and in-depth industry knowledge by joining one of Thailand’s major hotel chains, Centara Hotels & Resorts, where she was the Associate Vice President of Business Development and Legal Services.

In terms of hotel related agreements, Kristina has represented developers in their negotiations and revisions of agreements with the majority of leading chains, including Marriott, Starwood, Hilton, Accor, IHG, Radisson, Mandarin Oriental, Jumeirah, Capella, Hyatt, Movenpick, Best Western and Six Senses.

Kristina is admitted to the New York Bar and has an LLB from King’s College London and a Master Degree in International Relations from Thammasat University.
