Karina Vilanova has been in the hotel industry for almost 20 years providing in depth experience in Sales & Marketing and Rooms Division. Karina is a sales and marketing expert with a strong background in operations. She has lived and worked in seven different countries where she was involved in developing and opening hotels for international chains and independent properties.
Karina worked for Hyatt International for 10 years where she was involved in opening hotels in three different continents, performed three Management Operations Reviews in Istanbul, Casablanca and Paris and led the Worldwide Sales Office in Chicago. For the last 10 years, she has been involved in representing and promoting hotels and providing consulting services for new ventures and existing projects.
She has collaborated with companies like Six Senses and Oberoi or hotels like Chiva-Som and Relais & Châteaux properties, by providing them with sales and marketing support in different geographical markets.
She can identify the strengths and weaknesses and establish practical action plans for improvement in Sales & Marketing and Rooms Division.
Her recent assignments include concept development, market analysis and competitive benchmarking for a private island in the coast of Mozambique; market entry strategies, setting up the sales team, sales & marketing strategies, market study and promotion of Mundo Cuervo in Mexico (the tourism division of the tequila company, Jose Cuervo).
Karina is based in Spain and has an MBA in Hospitality Management from Florida International University. She is fluent in Spanish and English and conversant in French and Portuguese.
