Ian’s skills in latest hotel designs and ideas is evident in the number of ground breaking Malmaison Hotels he developed around the UK, including bringing them in on time and well within budget.
These skills were not only limited to the UK, as Ian successfully completed assignments in wide-ranging fields including golf course development in Turkey, Belgium and Spain; and then resort developments in Morocco, South Africa, Kenya, Switzerland and the Caribbean.
Ian has become well respected in the development of top-level restaurants in London, offering a unique combination of project management and financial control.
Key history
Ian Oram went back into Private Practice in 2002, after 20 years in the Development and Hotel Industry as both a Consultant and Development Director of a number of hotel Groups.
Ian was instrumental in starting the Malmaison brand with Ken McCulloch, managing the Design and Construction process on Hotels in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, London, and was also on the Development Boards of Arcadian Hotels and MyHotels
