Duncan MacArthur consults on all aspects of operational excellence in hotels, resorts and mixed use developments including those with leisure components such as Golf and Spa. Duncan has worked extensively in a leadership capacity within the hospitality and leisure industry. His experience covers project management, general management, property management, sales and marketing, food and beverage management, human resource management, and training and development. He has lived and worked in Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Asia and Europe.
With more than thirty years of experience working with IHG, ITT Sheraton and more recently with individual owners and developers, he offers an up-to-date approach to business planning and start-ups, performance improvement, operational reviews and business turnarounds. He leads and contributes his expertise to assignments for developers, owners and operators around the world
Among his recent assignments was an organisational review and gap analysis for a hotel in Seoul, South Korea, the production of the requisite Standard Operating Procedures together with action and advice on implementation, supporting the provision of Brand and Service Standards as well as Sales and Marketing strategies. He also carried out feasibility study of a proposed resort in Ghana, West Africa, and analysed the preferred operator option for — and then assist in the creation of — the business plan for a mixed use resort development in southern England.
