Katrina Craig was delighted to moderate a panel discussion session at the Boutique Hotels & Lifestyle Summit on Tuesday 23^rd May.

The international boutique hotel sector is thriving, with both small independents and large multi-nationals investing heavily to establish a presence in what is fast becoming a global phenomenon.

Katrina’s session was entitled “Meet the Owners and Investors – With transactions below 2015-16 levels, what’s keeping hotel owners and investors awake at night?”

Discussions proved lively and upbeat as Katrina sought panellist’s views on a range of subjects including accessing capital, investment criteria for growth over the next few years and the value of brands in the current economic climate.   Talks also covered  the importance of positioning boutique hotels in the market, CAPEX and how to mitigate labour cost risks with the changes and opportunities presented by by Britain leaving the European Union.
