After a tough start to 2021, I am very encouraged to see some green shoots of recovery in our industry both here in Europe, and around the globe. As the vaccination programme enables us to begin to resume face-to-face meetings and for international conferences to once again welcome travellers, I have no doubt that our industry will bounce back stronger than ever.
Over the last 18 months, we should have all learnt that adapting to change is key.
New services for a new age
At HSP, we have pro-actively championed this with the development of new staff re-boarding initiatives – Hospitality Anew along with our existing business review package – hoteldoctor.
We have also launched a stakeholder’s service programme to advise owners and lenders on best options for assets as hotels struggle to comply with lender covenants, commitments to landlords, meeting brand standards, and investor expectations.
Our team has also been identifying new trends and sectors in the market place as the industry pivots.
I hope you enjoy the articles in our Summer newsletter edition: Jankarl Farrugia reflects on Co-Living and Co-Working and Rosie Hobbs reviews the struggle hotels face to recruit staff. Ranjit Gunewardane, our Technical Services expert was recently published in Hotel Business Review on the ‘Importance of Greening Your Hotel’ and we are delighted to share a link to that article.
Against this shifting backdrop, Hotel Solutions Partnership has been engaged on a number of projects that are based around our core services and strengths. We completed feasibility studies and operator searches for two proposed resorts on an up-and-coming Greek island and we have also been creating a new hotel brand here in the UK. It has been wonderful to get our creative juices flowing again with the design team!
Strength in numbers
In such changing times, I am very grateful for the strong relationships we have built with our strategic partners – it has been a real support to be able to share news and views in their areas of business as we navigate our way through the pandemic and I hope you find their updates here interesting and positive.
Wishing you all a positive recovery and looking forward to hearing from soon or catching up in the near future.
