David Atkinson, HSP’s VP Business Development, attended the Arabian Travel Market at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai from 24-27 April. The ATM is the leading international travel and tourism event in the Middle East for inbound and outbound tourism professionals – exhibitors from around the world showcase a diverse range of accommodation options, tourism attractions, travel technology and key airline routes.
The ATM attracted over 28,000 visitors this year – a 71% increase over the last five years, a testament to the strength of the travel and tourism industry in the Middle East and has grown to become one of the largest event of its kind in the region and one of the biggest in the world. This year’s event had a theme of “experiental travel” and explored the importance of Dubai’s sustainable tourism initiatives and the opportunities to make tourism a pillar of economic diversification, job creation and development in the region as a whole.
David held a series of networking meetings with both new and existing Hotel Solutions Partnership clients, promoting the specialist consultancy services the network offers to hotel owners, operators, brands and developers and investors.
David commented that the ATM 2017 was a very successful event saying “The ATM was a great opportunity to talk with leading international hotel brands, key players in the region and gaining the latest insight and understanding in this exciting and diverse hospitality market”
David noted a clear trend towards real estate companies in the region now moving into the hospitality industry and developing their own brands – with this and Expo 2020 Dubai now being less than two years away, given Hotel Solutions Partnership in depth experience in this fast changing region, there will be exciting opportunities ahead.
